The History of Foot Reflexology
Pictures of hand and foot treatments have been found in Egyptian tomb art from around 2330 BC, and foot pressure techniques were part of traditional Chinese practice for centuries.
Modern reflexology grew from 'zone therapy', introduced by American physician Dr William Fitzgerald in the early 1900s. In the 1930s, therapist Eunice Ingham mapped the feet in detail and shaped reflexology as it is practised today.
